The ideal candidate will have familiarity and basic experience (through academics, internships, personal projects, etc) in shipping simulation software. In this role, you will help to enable Bonsai's core technology by providing a robust vehicle core software platform that can reliably deploy, run, and monitor the end-to-end software stack for agriculture and off-road robots. What you'll do:Bonsai Robotics has identified short-term (3 - 6 months) projects that are suitable for all levels of intern experience. Possible project areas include:Work as part of the Robotics/Platform team to help advance Bonsai’s simulation softwareBuild plugins for the simulation environmentImprove build system, deployment, health monitoring, and process orchestration for the robot application through simulationBuild Developer Experience workflows in simulation to accelerate development and testingInterface with Robotics, Computer Vision, and Cloud engineers to bring these systems together in simulation through consistent interfacesQualifications:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, mechanical, aerospace or any robotics related fieldPrevious experience in robotics or autonomous systems through internships, teams, clubs, previous jobs, etcPrevious experience in Gazebo or other simulatorsProficiency working on, deploying to, and configuring headless Linux systemsProficient in Python and C++ with CMakeExperience with ROS2Bonus points for experience with:Delivering pure-C softwareDockerSystemDBlender and CAD software such as SolidworksAWS Cloud Infrastructure: S3, EC2, etc.Bonsai Robotics values diversity, inclusivity, and excellence in hiring, and we strongly encourage candidates from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds to apply.
