What You’ll Be Doing 👨‍💻👩‍💻 🛰 🛰
You will be responsible for developing and integrating a software framework with various models and algorithms using Python and C++ or Rust. You will work closely between software and aerospace engineers to implement a robust framework capable of supporting complex algorithms that must execute in production environments. You do not need to be an expert in satellites, but experience working with physics-based concepts is highly valuable!Â
You will work in a small agile software development team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as satellite operators and other software engineers to understand requirements, implement new features, and troubleshoot issues. Your strong knowledge of optimization methods, modeling and simulation, and software best practices will allow you to build solutions capable of scaling to hundreds and thousands of satellites!Â
Tech Skills:Â

Proficiency in Python as well as C++ or RustÂ

Experience developing software to model complex mathematical or physics-related conceptsÂ

Applied experience developing and validating algorithms for optimization, sensor fusion, or similar concepts Â

Strong knowledge of software performance optimization and best practicesÂ

Experience developing containerized applications and hosting in Kubernetes and/or cloud-native architecturesÂ

Preferred experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDSÂ

Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar framework for version controlÂ

Background Qualifications:Â

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related fieldÂ

3+ years [professional] experience in backend development, Modeling & Simulation, or other related role. Professional experience can be replaced with a self-starter who has drive, the technical skills, and is obsessed with their product.Â
