About Kaleidoscope
A new era of scientific and biomedical discovery is upon us, powered by incredible advances including molecular and synthetic biology, high-throughput instrumentation, and applications of novel computational methods. And yet, the software ecosystem for scientists is sorely overlooked, resulting in serious hindrance of the speed and quality of scientific translation from bench to bedside. At Kaleidoscope, we are building a control center for science — a tool to stitch together all of the core elements of an R&D engine, ensuring that scientific work is captured reliably and reproducibly.
Kaleidoscope’s products are being used by some of the world's most innovative teams every day. We bring together experimental and computational workflows, and allows teams to collaboratively plan, manage, and track their processes and data. Our initial customers are biotech and pharma companies, and we will become the collaborative software underpinning R&D across all industries to accelerate scientific research.
The role
We are growing our team to expand our tooling and create new products that serve the needs of cross-functional research teams. That includes creating integrations to more services, developing and documenting our API for our customers to extend our tools, as well as building easy-to-use, fast, and reliable UIs for technical and non-technical users.
Kaleidoscope acts as a shared single integration point for teams, so beyond offering a reliable service, we need to meet the needs of many different roles in modern research teams, from bench scientists to data analysts to project managers.
As an early member of the engineering team, you will have an important voice on system architecture and team process. You will also be a valued member of the product team, as your creativity in solving solutions for our customers will bring to life new ideas.
To give you an idea of technical problems you may be working on, here are projects we are currently developing:
- Scaling our platform to support hundreds of millions of scientific data points, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
- Building out high-performance automated integrations to seamlessly ingest data from the most popular scientific tools used in the industry.
- Implementing granular access control mechanisms, enabling users to confidently share specific scientific data with coworkers, contractors, and investors without risking the exposure of unrelated information.
- Creating a beautiful and intuitive data explorer that empowers scientists to zero in on candidate therapeutic molecules among tens of thousands of options.
