What We Need:
Our Novato, CA studio is seeking an experienced Compiler Engineer specializing in compiler customization. Join our dynamic technology team at Visual Concepts, where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced and talented engineers, contribute to compiler technologies and play a key role in the evolution of Visual Concepts’ software development landscape, enhancing the functionality of the clang complier with Visual Concepts specific language extensions. This role will report into the Lead Director of Technology.
What You Will Do:
- Customizing the open source clang complier to incorporate Visual Concepts (VC) specific language extensions
- Responsible for development and testing and deployment of the custom clang compiler to NBA 2K and other VC teams
- Collaborate with technology team, but also be self motivated and work alone, involving the team when necessary
- Work closely with the Tech Team (NBA2K and other VC teams) to integrate the customized complier into relevant workflows
- Leverage experience to design and develop complier tools and language features
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to complier and language tool design
Who Will Be A Great Fit:
- Proven 3 years of hands on experience with compiler and language tool design and development
- Demonstrate strong skills in C++ and other high level languages
- Proficient in low level assembler and CPU machine code
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts and collaborate across teams
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Passion and love for video games (not just ours!)

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $105,800 and $129,500 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
