Sony Music Entertainment (SME) is seeking an enthusiastic and technically adept Technical Operations Analyst to join our Content Protection team. This position will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the technical and operational dimensions of SME’s intellectual property enforcement programs. As an analyst, you will be responsible for identifying and executing process improvements to improve performance, productivity, and efficiency, ensuring the fulfillment of departmental goals. We are seeking a candidate who is not only proficient in technology but also has a strong foundation in technical operations, project management, or software engineering, coupled with a fervent interest in music and technology.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the technical and operational functions of SME’s content protection initiatives
- Drive process improvements to increase performance, productivity, and efficiency
- Support SME’s Content Protection department with operational tasks, including quality assurance, content management, intellectual property enforcement, and artist/label services
- Evaluate and implement technologies incorporating machine learning, artificial intelligence, and music recognition technologies to further SME’s content protection strategies
- Investigate and devise strategies to mitigate content abuses on music streaming platforms
- Collaborate with SME’s labels, affiliates, and business units to address Content Protection-related issues
Who you are:
- Must possess B.S. from an accredited institution
- Proven experience in technical operations, project management, or software engineering
- Knowledgeable about machine learning, artificial intelligence, and music recognition technologies
- Proficient in a modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Javascript, R)
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
