Our mission
Genmo makes it easy for anyone to create movies, as if it were magic. Using our web application, any user can create cinematic video using a simple text prompt.
We imagine a world where high-quality cinematic video content is as plentiful as water. Our mission is to empower the next billion video creators to tell their stories.
The role is based in the Bay Area (San Francisco). Candidates are expected to be located near the Bay Area or open to relocation.
The role:
As a Research Engineer, you will develop innovative new machine learning techniques in the domain of visual generative modeling.
· Developing feature data sets that will be used in model development based on project requirements, using SQL, R, Python and big data tools (distributed computing and analytics tools) like Hadoop or Spark to build feature and model pipelines
· Creating ongoing operational model training and ongoing performance measurement for production models
· Developing large and high quality datasets that will be used in model development using distributed data processing tools like Spark and Ray.
· Instrumenting ongoing model quality measurement for production models.
· Improving the safety and alignment of our video models.
· You will also collaborate with other teams at Genmo to ensure safe and robust deployment of our generative models. We are looking for engineers who value simplicity and scale in the pursuit of general purpose foundation models for visual generative modeling.
Qualifications:
· Experience working with ML models and especially generative models (LLMs, GANs, Diffusion models, etc.)
· The will to work in an agile and fast-paced environment.
· A strong passion for artificial intelligence and the drive to learn new technologies. Bonus points:
· Past track record of fundamental research into generative models across either visual domains or text. This probably will include some form of past published research to academic venues.
· Past experience in high-performance computing like distributed deep learning or GPU programming.
· Strong will to attack hard programs in generative modeling alongside the rest of Genmo’s research team.
Bonus points:
Past track record of fundamental research into generative models across either visual domains or text. This probably will include some form of past published research to academic venues.
