The Opportunity:
As a Senior Data Warehouse Analyst you will have ownership over designing our data warehouse and reporting systems, maintaining data integrity and consistency across all reporting platforms and ensuring the our reporting remains accurate and performant with growing business needs. You will operate as the primary liaison between business units, analytics, and data engineering. The ideal candidate is technically advanced in SQL, comfortable writing and optimizing complex queries with the end game of developing a deep understanding of our data, how the business is performing and point of view on how to improve the status quo by effectively working with stakeholders. How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:
· Ownership of our data and how it is structured so it is accurate, consistent, performant and useful for the business to derive insights and make decisions.
· Proactive in identifying and implementing improvements across our reporting and data processes.
· Responsible for creating tables, views, caching processes, and coordinating with Data Engineering to get new data available for the business at large to use.
· Influence our path to innovation and efficiency by making data more accessible and actionable.
· Collaborate with thought leaders and cross-functional teams to bring forward-thinking solutions and insights to the table.
· Touch every corner of the business from Product, Marketing, Finance to Operations and Supply Chain, impacting decision making up to the executive level.
How your role expectations will progress as a Sr. Data Analyst in the first 30, 90, and 180 days:
30 days in
· Acquire an in-depth understanding of our business model, focusing on the marketplace dynamics and the analytics needs of different teams.
· Build foundational relationships within cross-functional teams, understanding the interplay between analytics, product, engineering, operations, and supply chain.
· Complete a comprehensive dive into our data and internal systems, aiming to master its structure, functionalities, and how teams interact with it.
· Identify initial areas for quick wins in our current reporting and data handling practices.
· Understand all essential tables in the production database & data warehouse, Looker/LookML and data structure/architecture.
90 days in
· Conduct a thorough evaluation and implement enhancements to our reporting data structure, focusing on performance and long-term scalability.
· Present insights, findings, and progress to leadership, demonstrating early impacts.
· Contribute to our approaches, methods, or technologies to support overall business goals and drive team efficiencies.
· Independently manage data warehouse roadmap and ad hoc requests, producing work to be utilized by stakeholders.
· Proactively build and refine the reporting infrastructure in Snowflake and Looker to preemptively meet future needs.
· Collaborate with Data Engineering and business stakeholders to create a cohesive reporting and data strategy.
· Collaborate with the broader team on best practices for reporting, analysis, and dashboards, learning from and sharing expertise with others and applying learnings to current and future work.
180 days in
· Independently identify and execute further areas of improvement, showcasing significant efficiency gains.
· Establish yourself as a thought leader within the Analytics team and the organization, driving innovative practices.
· Lead cross-functional projects with minimal oversight, directly contributing to strategic business outcomes.
· Anticipate downstream impacts for changes, make necessary adjustments and proactively communicate to stakeholders.
· Be recognized as a crucial analytical resource across the company, embodying a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What You’ll Bring:
· 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or related position involving data analytics and structure.
· Advanced SQL skills, especially in Snowflake, capable of optimizing complex data structures for performance and scalability.
· Expertise in Looker, with a solid understanding of other visualization tools like Tableau, Spotfire, or Power BI are a plus.
· Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams, fostering an environment of mutual respect and goal alignment.
· Highly motivated self-starter who is naturally curious and seeks out answers by diving into the data.
· Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions to business challenges.
· Ownership mindset and the confidence to make independent decisions and drive projects forward.
· Eye for detail and demonstrated ability to solve problems logically and systemically while ensuring information is accurate and consistent across reporting.
