Role Overview
We are looking to hire a Data Engineer into our technology team. In this role, you will focus on designing and implementing tactical data solutions and automating workflows that enhance CAIS business operations. This role emphasizes close collaboration with data analysts and cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions using Python, Snowflake, DBT, and Kubernetes.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain data platform solutions that meet business needs.
- Develop and automate data pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient data processing.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts and cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.
- Assist in ensuring the security and integrity of data solutions.
- Participate in the design and development of data models to support reporting and analytical needs.
Skills & Experience Required
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
Programming: Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
Data Management: Experience with SQL and Snowflake for data warehousing and data manipulation.
Cloud Platforms:
- Strong understanding of AWS and how to create secure infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud-native applications and CI/CD environments.
Tools & Technologies:
- Knowledge of Airflow/DAGS and data pipelines.
- Extensive experience with DBT and Snowflake for data warehousing, demonstrated through the creation and management of complex SQL/ETL/ELT data workflows.
- Proficiency with Terraform.
Collaboration: Strong ability to work with data analysts and other stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
Highly Advantageous Skills
- Experience with FiveTran.
- Knowledge of AI/ML.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Kafka or similar data streaming technologies.
- Understanding of CI/CD environments and infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
