We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. About the Role:
Hinge is seeking an innovative and strategic Art Director to elevate and dimensionalize our storytelling efforts. Reporting to the Senior Art Director of Marketing, this role is integral in concepting, developing, and presenting various projects that align with clear strategic objectives. You will be responsible for bringing a fresh and energetic point of view to our visual narratives, ensuring they resonate deeply with our brand vision.
As an Art Director at Hinge, you will be expected to lead collaboratively throughout the creative process from concept to execution, managing communication and alignment with both internal teams and external partners. Your role will involve not just creative development but also strategic thinking, ensuring that all projects answer both the project brief and long-term business objectives. You will be a key player in making our storytelling more inclusive and intentional, focusing on casting and creative partnerships that reflect our brand values.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Conception: Respond to project briefs by developing inspiring and strategic visual concepts that align with business objectives.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to explore new creative touchpoints and dimensions in our storytelling.
- Internal Communication: Manage and present evolving concepts to senior stakeholders, internal design teams, and external partners such as agencies, directors, and photographers.
- Production: Oversee end-to-end production of photo and video shoots across various campaigns, including conception, casting, pre-production, and post-production.
- Identify and manage top-tier external partners who excel in both craft and cultural alignment, ensuring a strong representation of our brand values.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in a visual design or art direction role, with a proven track record of building world-class brands or working in leading agencies.
- A portfolio that showcases your taste, thought process, strategy, and not just the final visual work.
- An effective communicator, especially when interfacing with leadership—with a professional executive presence and an inspiring, inclusive leadership style.
- Strong conceptual abilities and passion for visual language, typography, graphic design, content layouts, photography, and videography.
- Creative, curious, and hungry, with a readiness to roll up your sleeves and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Motivated to identify opportunities to enhance the impact of your work.
- Deeply aware of consumer trends and global dynamics, ensuring that your storytelling is relevant and impactful across earned, owned, social, and paid media.
