We are seeking an energetic, motivated, funny, and creative Social Media enthusiast to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in crafting content for businesses and managing social media accounts, particularly on Facebook and Instagram, with additional experience on other platforms being a plus. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on engaging with online communities through compelling content. Loving math is a plus—because in our world, creativity and numbers always add up! You will play a key role in enhancing our online presence, driving engagement, and supporting our overall growth strategy.

The Social Media Intern will:

Create and schedule engaging content on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms using a tool like Sprout Social.
Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness and audience engagement.
Collaborate with our team to brainstorm and create math and education-related content that is both educational and entertaining.
Analyze social media performance metrics and provide insights for improvement.
Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices to ensure our content remains fresh and relevant.

The ideal candidate has:

Proficiency with Facebook and Instagram; experience with other platforms is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A passion for math and the ability to create content that reflects this enthusiasm.
Creative thinker with the ability to generate new ideas for engaging content.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

This is a temporary, part-time position, expected to work 10-20 hours per week for 3 months. It is based at our headquarters in San Diego, CA, though we are open to remote candidates that live in the following states: CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, MN, MO, NC, NJ, PA (excluding Philadelphia), TX, VA, WA. Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) is on a mission to discover, inspire, and train the great problem solvers of the next generation. Since 2003, we have trained hundreds of thousands of the country’s top students, including nearly all the members of the US International Math Olympiad team, through our online school, in-person academies, textbooks, and online learning systems. While our primary focus has been math for most of our history, through the years we have expanded our unique problem solving curriculum into more subjects, such as language arts, science, and computer science.
