Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement
Burlington, Iowa
We are seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Sr. Manager to lead and drive operational excellence at our Burlington, IA Site location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accelerating the CI change efforts inside their site by implementing strategies to optimize processes, reducing downtime and waste, and increasing efficiency within the site. This role requires strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, and a proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment. As part of the Site Leadership Team, the CI Manager will provide support to the team with data analysis, GAP closure, action planning, lead Kaizens/Tiger Teams and other tasks assigned by the site Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy the SHOP model within the site and support all training, coaching and internal scoring to the criteria set by leadership.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and drive initiatives to completion.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of improvement efforts.
- Provide guidance and support to the site Director and team in implementing lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align continuous improvement efforts with organizational goals and objectives.
- Mentor and coach site personnel on problem-solving techniques and methodologies to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead change management initiatives to ensure successful implementation of process improvements.
- Utilize data analysis and statistical tools to identify root causes of inefficiencies and develop solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field preferred; or 5+ years in a business improvement role at a Supervisor level.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in continuous improvement roles within a manufacturing environment with demonstrated progression.
- Proven track record of successfully leading continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing location.
- Sound understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodology, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in coaching, influencing, and developing teams.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, etc.).
