Job Highlights:
As a Junior Linux Administrator with RGi, you will be directly supporting intelligence community customers with quick reaction support, focused on data, tools and technology. This team is working to build and maintain software applications backed by a self-managed cloud infrastructure with a true big-data footprint.
Linux Administrators focus on several things on any given day. The main objective is monitoring and acting on any outages on the platform to include hardware and software. Engineers also engage with the tenants and users of the Openstack Cloud Platform via chat services, assisting with any requests they may have. When not monitoring the system or engaging with users, you will be involved in upgrading/deploying applications, R&D on new technologies & services within Openstack or reviewing & updating existing documentation for better readability.
Clearance:
Active Top Secret clearance with an ability to obtain SCI access and willingness to obtain CI Polygraph

As a Junior Linux Administrator you will…
- Monitoring and acting on any hardware and software outages on the platform
- Engaging with tenants and users of the OpenStack Cloud Platform via chat services to assist them with trouble shooting and requests as needed
- Implementing cyber security remediations in close cooperation with the cyber security team
- Upgrading and deploying applications on the platform
- Integrating new hardware into multiple different compute clusters
- Reviewing and updating existing procedures and documentation
Junior Linux Administrator Qualifications:
- Linux administration: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, etc.
- Networking protocols: HAPROXY, DNS, HTTP(S), LDAP(S), SMTP, SNMP, SSSD, etc.
- Scripting languages: Shell, Python, Ansible, RegEx, etc
- Storage: Ceph Storage, SANs, etc
- Cloud Technologies (IasS, SaaS, PaaS): Openstack, Azure, AWS, VMWare
- Containerization: Docker, LXC
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
- 4+ years of related experience
Additional Skills We’d Like to See
- Relational databases: MySQL, MariaDB, HadoopDB, etc.
- Certifications: RHCT, RHCSA, A+, Network+, Security+, ITIL Foundations
