Your experience includes…
- PhD + 0-2 years or MS + 6 years of industryexperience in Chemistry or related discipline e.g., biochemistry, biotechnology or pharmaceutical science. Post-doc experience a plus.
- In-depth scientific knowledge and hands on technical expertise on LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and chromatography methodologies and instrumentation.
- Experience in high resolution mass spectrometric bioanalysis of oligonucleotides.
- Ability to work in a team orientated environment and conduct multiple laboratory and project tasks efficiently.
- RNA extraction from in vivo samples such as blood or tissue and downstream statistical bioinformatics analyses (not required experience, but a plus!).

- Developing LC-MS methods for characterization and quantitation of oligonucleotides in various biological matrices including biofluids, tissues, cells, and subcellular fractions.
- Conducting metabolite identification experiments, analyzing, and interpreting data to understand oligonucleotide metabolism.
- Designing and executing experiments from sample preparation, LC-MS/MS operation to data analysis & interpretation.
- Coordinating method transfer to CRO and serving as technical expert for method trouble shooting.
- Writing method protocols and sample analysis procedures. Preparing bioanalytical, metabolite identification reports and data presentations.
- Providing maintenance, quality control and troubleshooting of high-resolution mass spectrometer and UPLC systems.
About you:
You are a scientist who is interested in developing and employing LC-MS methods to characterize and quantitate oligonucleotides. Your background may combine RNA therapeutics with biochemistry methods, LC-MS and proteomics or large molecule bioanalyses. You may also have experience in method qualification and bioanalyses to support pre-clinical studies from experience working with small molecule LC-MS and bioanalyses for small molecule drugs. You have excellent communication skills and can work in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment to support research, non-clinical and clinical development programs for various therapeutic indications.

Jicheng Duan is a highly motivated scientist with deep expertise in LC-MS-based proteomic and bioanalytical development across diverse therapeutic areas, from early discovery to clinical development. At Tessera Therapeutics, he leads a team dedicated to advancing LC-MS-based proteomics and RNA bioanalysis to support preclinical studies for Gene Writing and Rewriting Therapeutics. Jicheng holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and has worked with prominent institutions and biopharmaceutical companies, including the University of California, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Bioverativ, and Sanofi. His work continues to drive innovation in therapeutic research and biotechnology.

Narissa joined the Biotechnology industry shortly after graduating with her BS in Marketing from Franklin Pierce University.
