Under the general direction of the Environmental Manager and Project Managers, this individual independently applies professional knowledge and experience to complete projects of routine to average complexity. They will provide technical assistance under the direction and review of the Project Manager on more complex projects, and they may be assigned responsibility for on-site management of complex field projects or at locations distant from the office. In addition, this individual may prepare proposals for routine projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs technical work with competence on all but the more difficult assignments and displays maturity in making decisions relative to the direction of projects.
- Reviews or develops field activities for consistency with project goals and objectives.
- Provides field oversight and data collection on complex projects that may be a significant distance from the office.
- Prepares reports and proposals for routine projects, and assists more senior staff with reports and proposals for more complex projects.
- Practices loss prevention techniques.
- Alerts Project Manager or Environmental Manager to technical, managerial, or administrative problems arising during the course of a project.
- Discusses technical matters with client representatives and other project team members as a fully-qualified professional.
- Projects a positive image of UES in dealings with outside groups and clients.
- Completes project assignments on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology or Environmental Science required.
- Registered Professional Engineer license preferred.
- Ability to use CADD.
- Five to seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in specialty field; up to two years’ experience may be substituted for the required experience with an advanced degree in a closely related field.
- The successful applicant should have experience with the following environmental tasks (field and reporting):
o Phase II soil and groundwater sampling and testing
o Low-flow and traditional groundwater sampling and testing
o Monitoring well installation
o Wastewater sampling and testing
o Risk-based corrective action risk assessment
o Waste characterization
o UST closure
o Remedial soil excavation observation and documentation
o Remedial system design/installation
