Description of Task to be Performed:
· Administration and maintenance of UNIX/Linux hardware and virtualized systems to meet the day to day demands in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
· Addressing elevated Tier 1 Helpdesk and Tier 2 Deskside Support tickets.
· Performing Linux account actions such as creations, deletions, and managing user permissions.
· Aiding with broader efforts across the Tier 3 infrastructure, network and platform team.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or technical training in an information Technology related field or Linux Systems
- Administration.
- 3-5 years of experience managing Linux systems in an enterprise environment.
- Must have an active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
- Must meet DoD 8570, 8570.01-M and AR 25-2 training certification requirements:
- At least one relevant industry Linux operating system certification, from vendors such as: CompTIA, or Red Hat (e.g. Linux+, RHCSA, etc.).
- At least one relevant industry Information Assurance certification, from vendors such as: CompTIA, GIAC or ISC2 (e.g., Security+).
- A high level of understanding of with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, versions 7.x through 9.x, and Ubuntu 18.xx and 20.xx to include patching, troubleshooting, creating user accounts, and writing scripts to accommodate user requirements, on both physical and virtualized servers.
- Experience with testing servers for STIG or SRG compliance and remediating any findings/vulnerabilities to bring Linux systems into compliance with Government defined security requirements.
- Experience working with VMWare 7.x and 8.x.
- Experience working with Ansible for Linux automations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience with writing and executing bash scripting.
- Experience working with network services such as DNS, LDAP, Kerberos, NFS, Samba
