The Technical Writer will produce high-quality documentation for our pursuits and marketing purposes. This individual will work collaboratively with engineers, project and program managers, and management staff to review client RFPs, write and deliver high quality proposals and marketing materials, and support the overall proposal and pursuits tracking process.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Compose written RFP responses in detail and identify mandatory business requirements
- Analyze and interpret RFPs as released including technical requirements; identify specialty requirements and constraints
- Prepare draft and final cost / pricing sheets as part of bid process and inclusion with proposal submittals.
- Work with proposal stakeholders to estimate resources, expenses, and durations to include with pricing / cost sheets in development of proposal bid costs.
- Perform quality reviews of written documentation and costs calculations prior to submitting to for internal review and ultimately to the client.
- Coordinate with partner subcontractors to solicit costs and proposals that will be utilized in Anser proposals
- Verify compliance with RFP requirements and verify required components are integrated in the responses
- Research, design, plan, write, and edit materials and documentation for pursuit submissions, hard copies or online publications, and verbal presentations.
- Understand and translate technical information and details into documentation for both technical and non-technical users
- Incorporate updates/corrections/additions to existing documentation
- Copy, edit and rewrite existing documentation, as needed
- Produce other procedural documentation (e.g., engineering and documentation procedures, project management procedures, quality procedures, standards, and specifications) for multiple purposes including in-house documentation, externally facing marketing materials, QA submissions, and cost proposals
- Ensure that documents adhere to the Anser documentation and quality assurance standards
- Recommend documentation formats to meet technical and customer requirements
- Provide recommendations for improving documentation standards and procedure
- Storing, collating, and archiving materials for future use and reference
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in English and/or Communications; and/or equivalent work experience
- Associate in Engineering Technology or BS in Electrical or Mech Engineering strongly preferred
Experience:
- Utility electrical / gas engineering and / or construction experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience writing procedural documentation for both a technical and non-technical audience
- Experience supporting proposal pricing development
- Experienced responding to RFPs both written and cost pricing
- Experience writing documentation for web-based enterprise class systems
- More experienced candidates as well as experienced project managers with writing talent who are interested in BD are also encouraged to apply. Job title and compensation will be commensurate with experience for the selected hire.
Technical Skills:
