The Role
Xos is seeking a hands-on Resident Electrical Engineer to join our team, acting as a critical liason between manufacturing and electrical engineering teams. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, with responsibilities spanning from designing and implementing electrical systems to supporting testing activities and field service needs. Your role will direct problem-solving, root cause analysis, and acting as a critical link between component suppliers and our internal teams. As a Resident Electrical Engineer, you should be able to read and comprehend technical information for different vehicle systems, components, devices, and be capable to integrate them into the electrical systems of the vehicle.
**This is an on-site position at our Byrdstown, TN Manufacturing facility**
Responsibilities
- Design, control and implement electrical systems and products for our vehicles and Xos products
- Actively participate in daily issue resolution and root cause analysis during production and launch activities
- Support the development and refinement of manufacturing processes according to global engineering standards
- Manage engineering projects at the plant, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to schedules
- Integrate customer needs and requirements into the overall electrical system design, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes
- Summarize data and report findings from vehicle fit-ups or builds
- Assess needs for new equipment, prepare budgets, and manage project status
- Follow up on project status and provide on-the-ground troubleshooting support
- Provide high-level troubleshooting and support for project builds
- Be hands-on with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and components on Xos vehicles and products
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- B.S. In Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proven expertise in electrical engineering within automotive applications
- Hands-on experience using design and calculation software
- Deep understanding of the electrical manufacturing process and engineering codes
- Familiarity with electric vehicle architecture, both LV and HV systems
- Experience with commercial and/or automotive programs, with a preference for launch experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively convey complex technical information.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficient with Google Suite, and CAD software (CATIA highly preferred) and other relevant engineering tools
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be comfortable lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50lbs. and using their hands and arms to operate tools and equipment.
Work Environment
This job generally operates in a plant environment as well as a professional office environment and engineering laboratory facilities. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud depending on the equipment being used.
