JOB SUMMARY
The intermediate level Visual/Dimensional Inspector will inspect aerospace and marine gas turbine engine components for airworthiness and conformance to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards during receiving, in-process, and final inspections. This position will verify and validate work performed by CRT and subcontractors to meet specifications in accordance with FAA and other world regulatory bodies.
The Inspector position will perform these important tasks from an all-new state-of-the-art building (completed in June of 2023) with ultra-modern technology and equipment throughout.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Through our extensive in-house training program, the successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer based and hands-on training, the necessary skills of the position.
1.Visually inspect components for wear, corrosion, fretting, gouges, bent or worn features, elongated holes, and any other damage of the turbine engine.
2.Measure parts using various measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, surface gages, dial-indicator gages, and other inspection tools to measure sizes.
3.Determine whether part features meet standards for serviceability, reparability, and overhauled condition.
4.Interpret standards provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals and instructions for continued airworthiness and industry standards. Thoroughly document visual and dimensional inspection findings in reporting forms.
5.Documentation Inspection – Check customer purchase orders and other customer documentation, check vendor documentation, and CRT documentation.
6.Reporting – Clearly report all findings. Record location, size, acceptability parameters, and other information relevant to the evaluation, acceptance, and corrections.
7.Work closely with the engineering team on new component procedures and repairs to ensure continuous improvement in the department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.Two years of experience in aircraft maintenance, (or similar experience) in the civilian or military fields, or an applicable technical accreditation in a machine shop, manufacturing environment, mechanical engineering, or journeyman certificate.
2.Exposure to visual inspection methods, techniques, practices, and aids that are appropriate for the article being inspected.
3.Proficiency in the use of various gages to include calipers, borescopes, micrometers, optical or electronic comparators.
4.General knowledge of turbine engine components, functions, repairs and shop processes.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
1.High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
2.Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including working with decimals, fractions, and basic shop math.
3.Previous experience, familiarity, or exposure with measuring gages such as calipers and micrometers.
4.The ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
5.Careful attention to detail.
6.Motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
7.Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
8.Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
9.Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
2. Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
3. Work in difficult positions from time to time. Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift. Move parts (>50 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods. Move less heavy parts (<50 pounds) with or without hoists, slings, or carts.
4. Occasionally use powered and non-powered hand tools.
