Coast is re-imagining the trillion-dollar U.S. B2B card payments infrastructure, with a focus on the country’s 500,000 commercial fleets, 40 million commercial vehicles, and millions of commercial drivers. The incumbent technologies that cater to these customers are decades old, and drivers and fleets increasingly demand modern digital experiences and affordable, transparent financial services products. Coast’s mission is to deliver those products at a transformational scale, beginning with the Coast Fleet and Fuel Card built on a cutting-edge spend management platform.
Coast is hiring its first Executive and Personal Assistant to the CEO, Daniel Simon (see below for background). This role will act as an extension to the CEO in all aspects of his professional and personal activities in order to provide leverage that makes him more productive in his initiatives at Coast. The role bridges duties to make the CEO more effective at work as well as in his personal life.
You’ll support the CEO and:
- Manage calendars, including scheduling appointments, confirming meetings, booking travel, help to prioritize requests and projects, etc.
- Coordinate team meetings, by preparing agendas, pre-reviewing documents, taking notes, and organizing follow-up items
- Work closely and effectively with the CEO to keep him informed of top priorities, upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately
- Assist with personal affairs such as personal appointments, dinner reservations, travel plans, dry cleaning, home services, getting lunches, etc., for the CEO and, as necessary, for his family
- Provide a “gatekeeper” role, ensuring the needed prioritization before booking time
- Manage external contacts, strategically coordinate meetings, draft emails
- Keep track of deliverables owed to the CEO and help with follow up
- Provide a bridge of smooth communication with the executive team and the board
- Process monthly expenses, receive and handle confidential information, and maintain confidentiality of private and sensitive information
- Anticipate needs in advance of meetings, conferences, speaking engagements, and panels
Who we’re looking for:
- 4-8+ years of EA or administrative assistance experience, preferably with experience supporting C-suite executives, and preferably with personal assistant experience
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
- Capable of handling confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
- A mastery of Google Workspace/Apps Suite and Calendar
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Flexibility to work in the evenings and on weekends as necessary
- Flexibility to work in Brooklyn (where the CEO lives) and Manhattan (the Coast SoHo office) as needed
- An ability to work independently with little oversight or management in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high-energy and mission-driven colleagues.
Compensation:
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits, signing bonus, and equity. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Coast employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Coast to fall healthily within the range based on these factors.
- Salary range: $90,000 - $115,000, depending on experience

- Equity grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company, with meaningful potential upside given the company’s early stage
