About the Role
The AV Live Events Systems Engineer is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the usage of AV solutions for event-managed spaces and large events. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful AV deployments and managing the project lifecycle for AV events and space technology, ensuring alignment with company standards. This is a high level position ideal for candidates to bring their knowledge into an ever changing environment and continue to build their career in AV technology and event management space.
What the Candidate Will Do
AV Solutions Management:
- Assist in conducting and overseeing the facilitation and usage of AV solutions for event-managed spaces and large events.
- Ensure AV solutions meet the specific needs of each event, providing high-quality audio and visual experiences.
Coordination and Collaboration:
- Coordinate with internal teams, including IT, Facilities, and Event Management, to ensure seamless AV experiences.
- Liaise with external vendors to secure and manage AV equipment and services.
- Serve as a point of contact for AV-related matters during events.
Project Management:
- Assist in managing the project lifecycle for AV events and space technology, from planning and design to implementation and post-event evaluation.
- Support the development of project plans and timelines for AV event space deployments.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Technical Oversight:
- Support the evaluation and selection of appropriate AV technologies and components for various events and spaces.
- Assist in creating detailed schematics, layouts, and documentation for all AV installations.
- Help oversee the installation, configuration, and testing of AV systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and quality assurance checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement and adhere to safety and operational protocols for AV equipment.
- Continuously monitor and improve AV system performance and user experience.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their AV needs and propose suitable solutions.
- Assist in conducting client demonstrations and presentations to showcase AV system capabilities.
- Provide training and support to clients and internal staff on the operation and maintenance of AV systems.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AV.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and user experience.
- Contribute to the development of AV standards and protocols within the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Lengthy experience in Audio Engineering, Event Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong experience in AV project management, event technology, or a similar role is a plus.
- Strong technical skills in AV system design, setup, and troubleshooting.
- Good project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in AV technology or related fields (e.g., CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) is a plus.
- Experience with live streaming and broadcast technologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools is a plus.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$146,000 per year - USD$162,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$146,000 per year - USD$162,000 per year.
