The Democratic National Committee seeks a talented and creative Rapid Response Video Editor to join our growing digital rapid response team.
The individual hired for this position will ideate and manage production and post-production for short-form video video projects on tight deadlines. You’ll work with clips, b-roll, still images, and other types of footage to bring to life actionable and compelling stories. You should feel at home with rapid-response timelines.
The ideal candidate has versatile video and social media skills with a focus on editing. Motion graphic experience is an enormous plus.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our Digital Rapid Response Director and creative team to edit and produce original videos for digital platforms and various audiences
- From concept to final export, create videos that hold Trump and Republicans accountable and uplift the accomplishments of the Biden-Harris administration and Democrats
- Follow the news and be able to identify video concepts and execute on them
- Write scripts, review transcripts, and incorporate raw materials including news clips, still images, text, and more to create original video projects
- Ensure that our video products are always on message and branded appropriately
- Have an eye for vertical video and video formats that work well on social media platforms.
- Have impeccable editing skills
- Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC’s mission
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; you should have an eagle-eye for typos and errors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- You’re a self-starter who is eager to contribute and learn.
- You’re interested in learning about digital work in the political space and how a top-tier digital team runs.
- You should be incredibly organized; able to prioritize multiple projects moving at different speeds in a deadline-driven environment. You have a keen sense of what preparations might be required for any situation and are proactive about making them happen.
- You’re a team player: you’re committed to helping the Mobilization team accomplish its goals.
- You’re savvy -- many of the situations you’ll be dealing with require discretion, judgment, and keeping a level head. You’ll need to be able to determine what’s mission-critical and what can wait, and you’ll always need to be focused on solving problems in the most efficient possible manner.
- You should be willing and able to relocate to Wilmington, Delaware
The starting salary for the Rapid Response Video Editor position is $60,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.
