The company was founded by Matt Gialich and Jose Acain, who have over a decade of experience working in aerospace at NASA, SpaceX, and Virgin Orbit. AstroForge plans to tap into the unlimited amount of resources that exist in space utilizing our small exploration and mining satellites capable of recovering large amounts of rare earth metals per mission.

Job Description:
AstroForge is thrilled to offer an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our innovative team. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the embedded software that flies our deep-space missions, allowing us to quickly iterate while ensuring reliability and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain embedded software for spacecraft systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and performance.
- Write hardware drivers that interface with spacecraft sensors and actuators such as IMUs, reaction wheels, and star trackers
- Collaborate with the avionics team to integrate software with embedded systems and peripherals.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues, both independently and as part of a team.
- Adhere to industry standards and best practices for embedded software development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in embedded software development, preferably in aerospace or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or assembly language.
- Familiarity with ARM processors, Cortex M architecture, and microcontroller programming.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, I2C, and RS422.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work onsite in Huntington Beach, CA

Technology
AstroForge is creating cubesats capable of reaching deep space orbits and plans to deploy this technology for asteroid mining. With its modular design, it can be adapted to fit other payloads and mission profiles offering a highly flexible, low-cost satellite.
