Salary Range: $79,865 - $119,790
This is an exempt position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide technical support in the management of the County's information system's network. This position is responsible for work involving installing, maintaining and troubleshooting network hardware, software and related peripheral equipment; monitoring network operations; managing user access and accounts; performing database management duties; and providing user training. To be successful in this role the individual's experience should include but is not limited to planning, building, and maintaining critical network architectures (WAN, LAN, VoIP, Collaboration, and Security) in a large-scale environment. Should have a very good technical foundation in networking with knowledge of L2&L3 technologies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Catalyst center, and Cisco wireless to support our clients' networking needs
• Install varied hardware, software and peripheral equipment for the information systems network, including the installation and configuration of switches, UPS, software, and routers
• Manage the establishment and maintenance of user accounts to include establishing user access to the network, and the type and level of access and connectivity; and maintains network connections for the constitutional officers
Network Design & Implementation:
• Design, configure, and implement network infrastructure solutions for campus networks, including Cisco Catalyst center
• Plan and deploy network upgrades, expansions, and migrations with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Work with the network architecture team to implement solutions by participating in strategy discussions, providing feedback to designs, and suggesting opportunities for continuous improvement.
Network Monitoring & Performance:
• Monitor the health, performance, and availability of network systems, identifying potential issues before they affect operations.
• Optimize network performance through tuning, configuration adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting & Support:
• Provide tier-3 support for network-related incidents, troubleshooting complex network issues across multiple platforms.
• Coordinate with other technical teams to resolve hardware, software, or connectivity problems.
Security & Compliance:
• Implement security measures to protect data center networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Work with security teams to monitor for vulnerabilities and perform security assessments.
Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology maps, configurations, and incident reports.
• Provide detailed reports on network performance and ongoing projects to senior management.
Collaboration & Training:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as system administrators, security engineers, and DevOps to ensure seamless operations.
• Provide training and guidance to junior network engineers and other IT staff as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum of four years of progressively responsible technology/network related support
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
