Your New Role...CNN's News Editorial Planner is responsible for creating, coordinating and planning the editorial content for all of CNN's global news platforms. This role involves working closely with our multiplatform teams to ensure that news coverage is timely, relevant, and aligns with the organization's editorial and strategic goals. The News Editorial Planner must have strong organizational skills, a keen news sense, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Your Role Accountabilities...- Content planning to help maintain the editorial calendar, scheduling news stories, features, and special projects. Contribute to the planning of long-term editorial projects and special coverage initiatives.
- Work closely with reporters, editors, producers, and other stakeholders to plan and coordinate news coverage.
- Create and conduct research on events, trends, audience interest to inform editorial planning and help improve content planning strategies.
- Assist in the development of story ideas and angles, ensuring a diverse and compelling mix of content.
- Solve logistical needs including booking travel, finding resources and assisting in setting up infrastructure.
- Facilitate communication between different departments and teams to ensure smooth workflow and collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience...- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field or equivalent in experience.
- 3+ years of experience in editorial planning, journalism, or a related role.
- Keen news sense with curiosity and understanding of current events and trends.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in newsroom management software and tools.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $64,890.00 - $120,510.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
