About the Role:
Our Client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of ACH payment capabilities within the agency’s alcoholic beverage pre-order and licensing management features in the MIPS and VAL systems. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced environment, managing shifting priorities while ensuring successful project execution.
This position is strictly focused on software development projects. Candidates with a background in infrastructure or telecom will not be considered.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned project manager with a strong background in managing software development projects, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics.
Primary Responsibilities:
·Clearly identify and articulate project objectives and goals, ensuring successful completion.
·Develop comprehensive project plans and manage project portfolios, encompassing scope, timelines, dependencies, budgets, resources, and milestones.
·Conduct effective project stakeholder analysis to engage appropriate individuals and groups throughout the project lifecycle.
·Ensure project activities align with strategic goals and coordinate efforts across teams to maintain progress and quality.
·Create and maintain detailed documentation of tasks, processes, and decisions to track progress and maintain accountability.
·Lead and coordinate pre-project impact analysis activities.
·Collaborate with IT resources to validate and ensure technical feasibility, quality assurance, and maintainability goals.
·Identify project risks swiftly and develop effective mitigation strategies.
·Request and allocate resources based on project requirements and availability.
·Track issues that jeopardize project goals and seek timely resolutions.
·Manage multiple high-priority, complex projects simultaneously.
·Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
·Lead and coordinate project teams by mentoring, motivating members, and fostering collaboration.
·Define project roles and responsibilities to enhance team efficiency.
·Manage coordination between teams and stakeholders, resolving conflicts for smooth execution.
·Establish clear communication channels to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged.
·Organize effective meetings to address concerns, provide feedback, and ensure project alignment.
Required Experience/Skills:
·Active PMP certification (required).
·8+ years of IT software project management experience.
·Expertise in managing projects using various methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, etc.).
·Strong issue, risk, decision, and change control capabilities.
·Ability to establish and implement key project monitoring and control processes.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills, tailoring messages to different audiences.
·Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to manage stakeholder disagreements and risks.
·Outstanding time management skills to ensure effective project tracking and reporting.
·Experience in developing project approaches that meet stakeholder needs while adhering to project constraints (scope, schedule, budget, etc.).
Highly Desired Skills:
·Experience using Jira for project tracking and management.
·Experience with both custom in-house developed software and COTS/SaaS implementation & maintenance projects.
