Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science with 2 years of experience in all aspects of IVF procedures
License: MT Certificate from the American Association of Bioanalysts
Certifications: EMT Certificate from the American College of Embryology (Preferred)
Must-Have:
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of reproductive biology, including male and female reproductive systems, embryology, in vitro fertilization, and cryopreservation
- Ability to learn to use stereo, compound, and inverted microscopes
- Handling hazardous specimens and manipulation of oocytes and embryos under the microscope
- Management of aseptic techniques
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Understanding and adherence to Protected Health Information (PHI) regulations
Job Description:
- Serve as Andrologist/Embryologist, learning and performing all aspects without supervision
- Follow established policy and procedures for quality control, Embryology/Andrology procedures, and standards set forth by state and federal agencies
- Perform clerical responsibilities with attention to detail
- Participate in a learning environment and engage in continuing development and education
- Execute retrievals, conventional inseminations, and proper preparation for upcoming cases
- Carry out oocyte and embryo grading, fertilization checks, embryo transfers, and assisted hatching
- Demonstrate proficiency in cryopreservation and thawing
- Perform micromanipulation of oocytes and/or embryos, including Intracytoplasmic sperm injection and trophectoderm biopsy
- Maintain proper communication and interaction with patients, clinical staff, and laboratory personnel
- Foster a team-oriented environment
- Work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required
- Participate in alarm calls
- Assist in training for Embryologist I/Andrologists and contribute to duties specific to Embryologist III & IV
- Complete assignments as requested by the Lab Director
- Comply with all policies and standards
- Safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients through annual training, code of conduct, and adhering to policies and procedures in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace
