How you will make an impact… Quantitatively analyze demand/supply/stock/flow data in electricity/natural gas/carbon/REC markets and discover the relationships among variables Build predictive tools Discover and investigate new data sources Assist in the development of analytical tools Communicate the outcome of the models to the team members in a clear and concise manner You will be right at home if you have… A PhD degree in a technical discipline with a focus on statistics, biostatistics, applied mathematics, or economics with a specialization in econometrics graduating between December 2024 and August 2025, or currently hold a Postdoc position Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, etc.) Specialization in time series estimation (VAR) and nonlinear estimation of multivariate models. Experience and understanding pattern recognition models or approaches is a plus. A willingness to learn power and natural gas markets and the ability to work with large data sets The ability and desire to implement models with UIs in an internal system Previous work or internship experience in building predictive models Can advocate for your beliefs in a concise and effective way with the team Strong problem-solving and statistics skills The proactive ability to take the lead on assignments and deliver practical research results in a timely manner DRW is a diversified trading firm with over 3 decades of experience bringing sophisticated technology and exceptional people together to operate in markets around the world.
