Text Blaze (https://blaze.today) helps individuals and teams eliminate repetitive typing and low-value work. It is used by half a million users (and growing fast) in a wide variety of roles from Customer Support, Sales, and Recruiting to Health Care and Education. Our customers range from individuals and small business owners to Fortune 100 companies.

Text Blaze starts as an intuitive freemium product; Users start saving hours in minutes. But it can also be very powerful, providing users with building blocks that allow them to build their own mini-productivity apps that are available to them anywhere they work.

Our users LOVE Text Blaze. We have a perfect 5-star rating in the Chrome Web Store. We constantly receive positive feedback from our users (it’s fun!). Our user growth is driven almost exclusively by word of mouth and referrals.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a founding team of a fast-growing product and build and own the marketing function and team.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced product/growth marketer to own Text Blaze’s marketing and help users discover and unlock the full value of Text Blaze. You’ll define user segments and messaging and lead initiatives to acquire users and drive engagement.

Responsibilities

Define and refine our user segments, positioning and messaging based on a deep understanding of our users and how they use Text Blaze to drive productivity and quality.
Develop, prioritize and execute marketing initiatives across channels (landing pages, content, SEO, SEM, display and video ads) and plans to test them.
Run experiments (including A/B tests), analyze results, and decide on the next steps.
Hire and manage internal and external team members.
Go crazy - be creative and test new things.

Qualifications

2+ years experience in product and/or growth marketing roles, ideally in product-led / freemium SaaS products.
Track record of driving significant improvements to core business metrics.
Experience working across different personas and use-cases.
Experience in organic (SEO, content, and social), and paid (SEM, display and video ads) marketing.
Hustler - ability to independently drive results using creative and scrappy (at first) approaches.
Great communicators - able to communicate plans including prioritization, assumptions, results, and next steps.
Data and hypothesis-driven, including SQL knowledge.
Team player - high emotional intelligence and ability to mentor others.

Our tech stack is:

JavaScript and React on the front end
Google Platform on the backend with extensive use of BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Firestore and Cloud Storage

We take a rigorous but pragmatic approach to our systems. We want to keep things simple and easy to maintain with minimal levels of abstraction or complexity. We're talking complex problems, so that's not always possible but we're looking for people who share those goals.

Interviews with Dan (co-founder and CEO) and Scott (co-founder and CTO):

Discuss your experience and Text Blaze the product, company and our goals
Your experience, goals, and interests
Your vision for this role - have a vision and hypothesis for what marketing initiatives would work for Text Blaze
Each interview is ~30 minutes and we expect to do both within a week or so.

Paid mini-project: an opportunity to work together and for you to demonstrate your skills.

We expect you to spend no more than 8 hours working on this over a span of a week or so (based on your schedule)
We will remove the content once the project is over. This is not meant to create content for Text Blaze
