Dignity Beyond Borders is seeking an experienced Development professional to lead the fundraising efforts of a newly established nonprofit.

Dignity Beyond Borders is a safe and inclusive global community for survivors of traumatic loss—focusing on healing, dignity, fostering hope and building skills for a brighter future.

Dignity is an inherent right; it cannot be taken away. It can be honored, or it can be violated.

Traumatic loss dramatically impacts the dignity of an individual or group—particularly when it is sudden and violent, as with terrorist acts, war, and mass violence. However, when survivors are brought together in a safe, inclusive, and understanding space, there is an opportunity to heal and offset the impact of trauma.

Responsibilities

Develop fundraising strategies: Create and oversee the annual fundraising plan, including individual, foundation and corporate giving.
Identify funding opportunities: Work with the Board of Directors, Advisory Board and organizational leadership to support and fund program operations.
Relationship Building: Connect with potential and existing donors to communicate the importance and need of the work of the organization
Collaborate with others: Work with the leadership and marketing team to promote fundraising efforts

Qualifications

5-10 years of experience in nonprofit development with demonstrated success in individual, foundation and corporate fundraising and management.
Experience in prospecting, soliciting, and stewarding individual gifts, foundation and corporate sponsorships.
Experience with major donor cultivation and solicitation of large individual gifts ($10,000+)
Experience working with staff, Board members, volunteers, and donors to make connections, identify prospects, and create a culture of philanthropy.
Project management skills to plan, set goals and objectives, and executive actions for special events and donor campaigns.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
